I say I’m not going to eat anything after dinner. Then 10 o’clock rolls around and I begin to hear the sweet siren song of a package of unopened Lemonades. Who could resist going into the light?

Not I. I’m weak when faced with Girl Scout Cookies. Weak, I tell you.

Everything around here is starting to look like it might be close to fall. It’s still in the high nineties for now, but I can tell it isn’t going to last very long. Any day now I’ll be pulling out my winter coats and complaining about being cold. You can blame the over-abundance of poison oak in my driveway that is turning a brilliant red. Red leaves equal fall.

I got this lovely shot full of fall colors because I forgot to whack these weeds like a good little girl. It’s a good thing I’m lazy because these colors make me unreasonably happy.

Our fourth of July celebration came a little bit early this year but it was just as fun as always.

We ate a lot of barbeque and set off slightly illegal fireworks and I took half a million pictures of my kids playing with fire. Good times.

So, going on a walk at 8am seems like it’s walking in the morning. However, I have been informed that it’s not really walking in the morning. It’s too late for everything to have that crisp, morning glow.

Whatever. This is the best I can do. The light was still pretty as it filtered through the trees. That counts for something.

…the sun sets on two horizons at our house.

How many places do you think can say the same thing?

Send tissues and tea.
