29.365: Old Cars and Lost Dreams

My backyard isn’t all secret faerie gardens. Some of it is junk left in rusty piles by the previous owners. When I’m walking around, I try to imagine what the heck these people were thinking. What were they going to do with that bakery case? Why exactly do we need a toll booth and a toxic waste barrel? Are they related in any way?

And then there are the old cars. I can imagine some old guy sitting around planning on restoring this hunk of twisted metal to it’s former glory. Then he’d go cruising down Main Street with his gray hair blowing in the wind.

Or maybe he just needed a convenient place to dump this thing. *Shrugs*

28.365: Not Quite Spring

Okay- I admit it. I took this picture yesterday. I’m a big, fat phony.

But since I spent all day today staring at my computer screen, thinking about how nice it was yesterday to play outside on a Not Quite Spring day, I think it qualifies. I dreamed of dandelions and warm days and pretended that I could run outside and play when ever I wanted, not just when the weather is acting abnormally out of season.

God I miss Summer.

27.365: Graduate

Look what finally arrived in the mail!

Please note the pretty yellow tassel that says I graduated with honors. Go me.

26.365: Waiting

It hasn’t rained here for a while. I’m beginning to think Mother Nature is messing with me. She’s trying to make me think Spring is here but I know that it’s really only January. Any minute now, She’s going to realize I’m not so easily fooled and start the rain and the snow machines up again.

Until then, the Bear and I are going to keep our umbrellas handy.

25.365: Baby Love

You know how I know I have a great job? I get to spend my day playing with colors and staring at baby pictures.

24.365: In other news

Sometimes I do strange things without really thinking about them. Then I’ll be sitting at my desk whittling away the hours and suddenly look up to discover that- holy crap!- there’s a dinosaur on my tea pot. How did that happen?

Do you get the feeling my memory isn’t all it should be?

22.365: In the Dream

Sometimes when I am wandering around my backyard, I expect a faerie to pop out and say hello.

It could happen.

21.365: Inspiration is Everywhere

You know what’s awesome about small towns? One day you are driving along, minding your own business, when you spy something out of the corner of your eye.

Something like this:

And you realize that if you lived in Orange County or LA or any one of the million and one cities you could be living in, you would never in a million years be able to pull over to the side of the road and take three thousand pictures of a bunch of rocks stacked on top of each other.

Sure, there is a serious lack of Sushi ’round these parts. But hey- you can’t have everything.

20.365: I wonder where all these come from

The bruises, not the legs. I’m pretty sure I know where the legs came from.

They just seem to appear out of nowhere. Although, I’m kind of a klutz. If I thought hard enough, I could probably remember hitting my leg on somethings. Possibly.

19.365: Procrastination Station

I’m probably supposed to be doing something domestic. I’m playing Hang Woman instead.

I like to think of it as exercising my brain.
